Literacy
Heights family,
I wanted to express to you all how thankful we are for your support with our Annual AHHS Literacy Rally. It was a success because of you all! We gave away hundreds of books. We had hundreds of people attend. We had about 250 volunteers which included faculty/staff and organizations. There was a morning full of performances from our choir, orchestra, band, theater, dance and cheer. We are so appreciative to have such supportive students and coworkers to give their time to this event whether it was in prepping for or volunteering on the day, many thanks to you all. This definitely would not have been possible without everyone’s help.
In addition, we would like to recognize our Student Literacy Ambassador Leaders, Eliseo Cordova and Jennifer Rivera-Ayala. They were very instrumental with the creating of decorations and the organization of the Reading Room. Please thank them when you see them.
We are attaching a volunteer spreadsheet that includes student names, organizations the students worked for and the time they participated. There is a tab for volunteers for the day and a tab for volunteers who helped with the rally's preparation. There are a few students who did not check in the main office, but checked in with their organization (ie football, band, orchestra). If you would like for us to include them in on our master list, you can send us a list of names. We can make that information available for other organizations for volunteer hour purposes.
